Cost Control Section Manager

Job Summary:Will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing and controlling costs to support efficient financial management.The role focuses on budgeting, cost analysis, variance reporting and implementing cost-saving initiatives to improve profitability and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities:Monitor, record, and analyze production, operational, or project costsPrepare cost reports and variance analysis (actual vs. budget/standard costs)Develop and maintain cost control procedures and policiesAssist in preparing annual budgets, forecasts, and rolling cost projectionsTrack inventory costs, material consumption, labor, and overhead allocationsIdentify cost-saving opportunities and recommend corrective actionsSupport month-end and year-end closing related to cost accountingReconcile cost accounts and ensure data accuracy in ERP/accounting systemsCollaborate with operations, procurement, and project teams on cost issuesAssist internal and external audits by providing cost-related documentation

Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field5-10 years of experience in cost accounting, cost control, or management accountingStrong understanding of budgeting, standard costing, and variance analysisProficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (Oracle)

Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)Knowledge of financial reporting standards and internal controlsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsHigh attention to detail and accuracyGood communication and reporting skillsPreferred Skills & Certifications:CMA, or similar professional certification is an asset.Experience in construction, or project-based environmentsKnowledge of cost optimization and process improvement techniquesKey Performance Indicators (KPIS):Accuracy of cost reports and variance analysisBudget adherence and cost-saving achievementstimelines of financial reportingeffectiveness of cost control measures implemented
