Dental CAD Designer/ Surgical Guide

The RoleWe are looking for a highly skilled and meticulous Dental Surgical Guides CAD Designer to join our growing team.

In this role, you will be responsible for the digital design workflow to produce high-quality, 3D-printable dental surgical guides.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in dental CAD, an eye for detail, and a passion for precision.

Key ResponsibilitiesDesign & Development: Design patient-specific 3D dental surgical guides, including tooth-supported, mucosa-supported, bone-supported, and complex stackable guides.Model Preparation: Prepare, refine, and optimize 3D models ensuring smooth, watertight surfaces and making necessary offset adjustments for manufacturability.File Generation: Generate high-quality, print-ready STL files suitable for fabrication, ensuring the final output meets all clinical and technical specifications.Remote 3D Printer Management: Oversee and manage the production of surgical guides on our 3D printers, including build tray setup, nesting, supporting, and job scheduling.Quality Assurance: Ensure all fabricated guides adhere to our stringent quality and production standards, performing checks for accuracy and fit.Workflow Management: Maintain up-to-date case statuses within our digital workflow system and prepare production reports as required.Collaboration: Work closely and effectively with clinical teams, lab technicians, and other departments to ensure seamless case progression and successful patient outcomes.

Required Technical QualificationsProven Experience: Demonstrated experience in the end-to-end digital design of patient-specific surgical guides, from design to final production.CAD Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in at least one major dental CAD software (e.g.

Atomica, 3Shape, Codiagnostix, RealGuide….etc.).Mesh Editing Skills: Familiarity with advanced 3D mesh editors for model repair and refinement. (e.g.Materialise 3-matic, Blender, or Meshmixer….etc.)Data Manipulation Expertise: Strong ability to manipulate and refine 3D models to produce clinically accurate, watertight STL files.Additive Manufacturing Knowledge: Practical, hands-on experience with the 3D printing workflow, including slicing software, build platform preparation (nesting & supporting), and print optimization.
