Electrical Team Leader

Lead the preparation of electrical designs from concept through detailed design.

Prepare electrical calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.Ensure compliance with applicable international and local codes and standards (IEC, NEC, NFPA, local authority requirements, etc.Provide technical guidance and solutions to complex engineering issues.Coordinate with architects and structural, mechanical, civil, ICT, security, fire protection, and other disciplinesCoordinate with Quantity Surveyors (QS) and aspect engineers to ensure accurate and detailed project specifications.Finalize design packages and coordinate with the technical manager for project implementation.Ensure all deliverables meet company quality standardsReview and validate electrical designs, specifications, and plans to ensure technical accuracy and feasibility.Ensure compliance with company QA/QC proceduresProduce and review reports, presentations, models, and drawings to a high standard, with high accuracy, and in a timely manner.Take responsibility for the design and delivery of discipline engineering on multiple projects, seeing them through to completion.Manage and mentor the electrical engineering team, providing guidance and support to develop their skills and capabilities.Actively engage with colleagues across disciplines, in group discussions, and at events and seminars.Review detailed designs to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.Embrace technologies to improve performance and sustainability to meet net-zero goals.Identify opportunities for technical improvement and innovation in project designs and processes.Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continually enhance project quality and efficiency.

Skills:Broad design knowledge from working on a wide range of projects and using British, US, European, and international codes of practice.Experience using common analysis software including Revit, CAD, ETAP, DIALUX and willing to quickly learn to use new analysis packages as required.Digital engineering skills (e.g., coding) would be advantageous.Well-practiced communication skills.Confident and proactive approach to problem-solving.Fluency in English and Arabic languages may be advantageous for communication with clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.LEED certification is preferred.Relevant building services experience or credentials that will help meet goals for delivering highly sustainable buildingsMinimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering design, with significant experience in design development and detailed design.Extensive experience working on mega projects and complex projects, including high-rise buildings, healthcare facilities, and hotels.
