Job Description

  • Prepare and develop comprehensive Fire & Life Safety design solutions for various types of projects.
  • Review architectural and engineering drawings from a Fire & Life Safety perspective.
  • Conduct detailedCode Analysisbased on applicable NFPA, IBC, SBC, and project requirements.

  • Prepare and review Fire & Life Safety plans, reports, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Ensure design compliance with applicable fire and life safety codes, standards, and authority requirements.
  • Coordinate FLS requirements with Architectural, Structural, MEP, and Fire Protection disciplines.
  • Identify and resolve design conflicts related to Fire & Life Safety requirements.
  • Prepare and reviewAuthority Submission Drawingsand related technical documentation.
  • Address comments from consultants, reviewers, and relevant authorities and implement required design modifications.
  • Provide technical support and recommendations to multidisciplinary design teams.
  • Participate in technical reviews and ensure the accuracy, consistency, and quality of FLS design deliverables.
  • Support project teams throughout different design stages to maintain full compliance with fire and life safety requirements.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience in the engineering field.
  • Strong experience in Fire & Life Safety (FLS) design and review.
  • Good knowledge and practical application of NFPA Codes & Standards and the International Building Code (IBC).
  • Good knowledge of the Saudi Building Code (SBC) and Saudi Civil Defense requirements is a strong advantage.
  • Proven experience in preparing and reviewing:
  • Fire & Life Safety Plans
  • Means of Egress
  • Occupant Load
  • Exit & Evacuation Plans
  • Fire Rating & Fire Separation
  • Fire Compartments
  • Travel Distance & Common Path of Egress
  • Occupancy Classification
  • Ability to review designs and ensure compliance with applicable NFPA, IBC, and SBC requirements.
  • Experience coordinating with Architecture, Structural, MEP, and Fire Protection disciplines.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Revit is preferred.
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing Authority Submission Drawings and coordinating with relevant authorities.
  • Strong technical analysis, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
