HSE Specialist
Job Description
Implement and monitor Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, and standards throughout the facility.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations related to the handling, storage, and transportation of chemical materials.
Conduct risk assessments, hazard identification, and recommend appropriate preventive and corrective actions.
Perform regular safety inspections and audits of production areas, warehouses, laboratories, and utility facilities.
Monitor the proper use, availability, and maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Investigate accidents, incidents, injuries, and near-miss cases, and prepare detailed reports with corrective and preventive actions.
Develop, implement, and review emergency response, evacuation, and fire prevention plans.
Administer and monitor Permit to Work (PTW) systems for high-risk activities.
Ensure compliance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS/MSDS) requirements and chemical safety standards.
Monitor the safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous chemicals and industrial waste in accordance with environmental regulations.
Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, training sessions, and awareness programs for employees and contractors.
Monitor and inspect firefighting equipment, alarm systems, emergency exits, and other safety devices to ensure operational readiness.
Prepare periodic HSE reports, statistics, KPIs, and performance analyses for management review.
Ensure contractors and visitors comply with all company HSE requirements.
Promote a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement in workplace safety performance.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
Previous experience in Occupational Health & Safety within manufacturing, industrial, or chemical environments.
Strong knowledge of chemical safety regulations, risk assessment, and incident investigation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and report preparation Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. OSHA, NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent HSE certifications are preferred.
Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
Previous experience in Occupational Health & Safety within manufacturing, industrial, or chemical environments.
