HSE Supervisor
Job Description
Ensure compliance with all relevant safety laws and regulations, including port authority requirements and transportation standards.
Conduct detailed risk assessments for road transport, yard operations, and port activities; implement mitigation measures.
Lead investigations of accidents and near misses; identify root causes and apply corrective and preventive actions.
Organize safety training for drivers, forklift operators, Maintenance teams and loading teams; coordinate emergency drills and awareness sessions.
Carry out regular and surprise inspections of yards, vehicles, equipment, and subcontractor operations.
Monitor HSE team performance through field visits; ensure unbiased inspections by rotating assignments.
Maintain and report HSE KPIs; compile findings into summaries for monthly, quarterly, and yearly management reports.
Develop and manage a documentation system to ensure all compliance-related files and certifications are up to date.
Oversee environmental compliance including handling of hazardous materials, spill response, and emissions monitoring if required.
Prepare and update emergency response plans for fire, medical emergencies, and fuel or chemical spills.
Assign and rotate HSE officers across locations and projects to prevent familiarity-related oversights.
Execute and follow-up on project-specific HSE plans and ensure alignment with legal requirements.
Report facility maintenance needs; define execution methods and responsible parties (internal teams or subcontractors).
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably Industrial Engineering, or Master's in Safety or relevant field.Certifications:OSHA or IOSH and preferably NEBOSHDangerous Goods trainingExperience:5 to 8 years in HSE, with at least 1 year in transport, logistics, or supply chainStrong knowledge of Egyptian HSE regulationsStrong knowledge of IATA/IMDG (if handling hazardous materials)Incident investigation (e.g., Root Cause Analysis)Risk assessment & compliance management
