IT Business Analyst Manager (AEC)

Role Dewan Architects & Engineers is a global design consultancy firm with 900+ professionals across offices in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Iraq.

We are seeking an IT Business Analyst to join our Enterprise Technology function.

In this role, you will support business analysis and digital change initiatives across AEC workflows (design, engineering, project delivery, commercial, and support functions), translating business needs into clear requirements and actionable delivery plans.

You will partner with stakeholders and delivery teams to implement solutions across core platforms (CDE/BIM, PMIS, ERP, collaboration, and integrations), ensuring adoption, value realization, and governance.

You will report to the Head of the Enterprise Technology Department (ETD) and work closely with solution architects, vendors, and BI/Data teams to deliver integrated outcomes.

Responsibilities Lead business analysis activities for assigned initiatives; apply BA standards, templates, and quality controls for requirements and documentation.Partner with business leaders (Design, PMO, Construction, Commercial, Finance, HR, Procurement) to understand priorities and shape delivery roadmaps.Report to the Head of ETD and collaborate with solution architects, engineers, vendors, and business owners to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.Facilitate discovery workshops to map current-state processes and design future-state workflows across the project lifecycle (tender → design → construction → handover).Elicit, analyze, and document business, functional, non-functional, and reporting requirements; maintain traceability through delivery and change control.Translate requirements into epics/user stories, acceptance criteria, and test scenarios for Agile/Hybrid delivery teams and vendors.Support selection, implementation, and continuous improvement of AEC platforms (e.g., CDE/DMS, BIM coordination, PMIS/field tools, ERP, and collaboration).Define data needs and KPIs for project and corporate reporting; align with BI/data teams on data sources, definitions, and governance.Coordinate UAT planning and execution: test scripts, defect triage, go/no-go readiness, and sign-off with key stakeholders.Drive change management activities: communications, training coordination, adoption tracking, and post-go-live stabilization.Work with solution architects and engineers on integration requirements (APIs, middleware, data flows) between ERP, PMIS, CDE, and identity/security controls.Ensure solutions comply with IT policies, security requirements, and project information management standards (including access controls and audit evidence where needed).Track benefits realization and operational KPIs; identify opportunities for automation and continuous improvement (workflow, RPA, self-service).Demonstrate ethical and professional behavior and adherence to company policies and procedures.

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).8+ years of experience in business analysis / digital delivery, with demonstrated ownership of BA workstreams in complex programs.Proven experience delivering solutions in AEC environments, with strong understanding of design and construction workflows.Strong requirements management skills (BRD/FRD, user stories, process mapping, acceptance criteria, traceability).Working knowledge of AEC delivery systems such as CDE/document control (ACC/BIM 360, Aconex, SharePoint), PMIS/field tools (Procore, Primavera P6/MS Project), and/or ERP (Oracle/SAP/Dynamics).Experience with stakeholder management, workshop facilitation, and executive-ready communication.Hands-on experience supporting UAT and change adoption across multi-location teams.Willingness to participate in occasional off-hours/weekend support for go-lives and major releases.

Bonus Points CBAP/CCBA, PMI-PBA, PMP, PRINCE2, Agile/Scrum, or ITIL certification.Experience with BIM information management concepts and CDE governance (e.g., ISO 19650-aligned practices).Familiarity with integration patterns, APIs, and data modeling fundamentals; experience working with middleware/iPaaS tools.
