Library Senior Specialist
Job Description
1-Oversee the acquisition, cataloging, classification, and processing of all library materials. 2-Supervise and assist junior librarian in the accurate sorting, shelving, and organization of books and materials; ensure all activities align strictly with the established library classification system.3-Rotate with and support other staff at the service desk to deliver consistent, professional, and welcoming front-facing support.4-Collaborate with instructors and students to understand their research needs, providing expert guidance on locating resources and ensure requests are fully met.5-Assist in developing and delivering library orientations, information literacy sessions, and specialized workshops for students and instructors.6-Maintain precise library records and statistics, and compile data for the preparation of regular reports and operational documents as requested
1-Bachelor’s degree in library science.2-(4-7) years' experience.
Skills 1-Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of building rapport with senior stakeholders, faculty, patrons, and mentoring junior staff.2-Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.3-Comprehensive understanding of academic library policies, procedures, and best practices, with the capacity to contribute to policy development and ensure team compliance.4-Deep, authoritative knowledge of classification systems (e.g., Dewey Decimal, Library of Congress) and cataloging standards (Z
