Logistics & Customs Clearance Specialist

Managing the shipping process:Guide new suppliers through export and import procedures to ship cargo to Egypt and arrange registration on the Cargo X platform.Develop and implement shipping plans in coordination with suppliers.CIF Shipments: Ensure suppliers secure bookings with the nearest vessel and lowest transit time, and arrange for the longest free time at the destination port.EXW/FCA Shipments: Obtain quotations from multiple freight forwarders and shipping lines, negotiate best prices and transit times, and coordinate pickup dates with suppliers and freight forwarders.Monitor and track shipments in transit.Review draft shipping documents and request necessary amendments.Ensure final shipping documents are uploaded to Cargo X and original documents are sent to vaTTE.Oversee all customs clearance activities:Manage the relationship and performance of freight forwarders and customs clearance brokers.Review their down payments and financial statements of accounts.Conduct market research to identify and evaluate potential new freight forwarding and customs clearance partners (in collaboration with the Supply Chain Manager).Coordinate with suppliers to obtain necessary proforma invoice data for pre-import approval (ACID).Manage communication and document flow with the customs broker.Review draft customs documents provided by the broker.Ensure timely digital signing and linking of documents to the bank for Form 4 issuance.Follow up with the customs broker on receiving Delivery Orders, opening import certificates, arranging customs pricing committees nd inspections.Track the progress of customs clearance and proactively address any potential delays.Communicate customs duties to vaTTE Finance for timely payment.Arrange transportation with appropriate trucks after customs clearance.Coordinate delivery dates and times with the Warehouse Supervisors and Production to ensure readiness for receiving goods.

Qualifications and Education RequirementsBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related field.Minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience in logistics and customs clearance, specifically within an freight forwarding environment in Egypt.Demonstrated experience in managing freight forwarding operations (CIF, EXW/FCA).Solid experience in coordinating customs clearance processes and managing relationships with brokers.Familiarity with Egyptian customs regulations, procedures, and relevant digital platforms (e.g., Cargo X, Nafeza, ACID pre-import approval).Preferred SkillsIn-depth knowledge of international shipping procedures, Incoterms, and documentation.Strong understanding of Egyptian customs laws, tariffs, and valuation methods.Proficiency in using logistics and customs software, ERP systems, and MS Office Suite (especially Excel for data analysis and reporting).Ability to review and amend shipping and customs documents accurately.Strong negotiation skills for securing optimal freight rates and terms.Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.A strong sense of ownership and responsibility for shipment and clearance outcomes.
