Production Planning Engineer
Job Description
Job Purpose:To plan, coordinate, and optimize production schedules in manufacturing plant to ensure timely delivery, efficient resource utilization, and alignment with customer demand and plant capacity.
Key Responsibilities:Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on sales forecasts and confirmed orders.Monitor production performance vs. plan and adjust schedules to minimize downtime and losses.Ensure optimal utilization furnace capacity.Plan and track job changes (mold changes) to minimize production losses.Work closely with warehouse and logistics to align production with dispatch priorities.Identify bottlenecks and propose continuous improvement actions.Ensure adherence to quality standards and production targets.Prepare and present production reports and planning dashboards
Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Production, or equivalent).3–7 years of experience in glass container manufacturing or similar heavy industry.
Skills & Competencies:Strong planning and analytical skillsGood knowledge of ERP systems (SAP or similar)Advanced Excel and data analysis skillsAbility to handle multiple production lines and prioritiesStrong communication and coordination skillsProblem-solving and decision-making abilityUnderstanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
