Senior Mechanical Technical Office Engineer
Job Description
Design Review & ComplianceReview consultant-issued mechanical designs (HVAC, plumbing, firefighting).Ensure compliance with local codes, regulations, and project specifications.Identify design gaps, conflicts, or discrepancies and propose solutions.
Shop Drawings & DocumentationSupervise and review preparation of detailed mechanical shop drawings.Coordinate mechanical layouts with architectural, structural, and electrical drawings.Approve revisions before submission to consultants/clients.Prepare method statements, RFIs, and compliance reports.
Technical CoordinationCoordinate mechanical systems with other disciplines (architectural, civil, electrical).Liaise with procurement for material approvals (HVAC equipment, pumps, fire systems, pipes, valves).Support site teams with clarifications and updated technical documents.
External & Client InteractionCommunicate with external design agencies for clarifications or modifications.Prepare and submit shop drawings and material submittals for consultant/client approval.Attend coordination meetings with consultants, contractors, and client representatives.
Team Leadership & SupportSupervise and mentor junior mechanical technical office engineers.Review their outputs (shop drawings, calculations, submittals).Ensure deadlines are met and deliverables maintain quality standards.
Reporting & Risk ManagementReport design or coordination issues to the Mechanical Technical Office Manager.Assess potential risks in mechanical design changes (cost/time).Provide technical input for variation orders and claims.
EducationBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.Experience Required7–10 years in mechanical engineering, including technical office experience Preferred Requirements.Preferably within real estate ideally within residential, commercial, or mixed-use developments.Experience in design review, shop drawings, and material submittals.LanguageGood English (written and spoken).Computer SkillsM.S Office Proficiency in AutoCAD
