Senior Planning Consultant (Oracle Hyperion)

Role SummaryThe Senior Planning Consultant (Oracle Hyperion) is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise performance management (EPM) solutions using Oracle Hyperion Planning and related tools.

The role ensures alignment of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes with business objectives while providing technical leadership and best practices.

Key ResponsibilitiesSolution Design & ArchitectureDesign end-to-end Oracle Hyperion Planning solutions aligned with business requirements.Develop scalable and high-performance EPM architectures.Define application frameworks, metadata structures, and data models.Lead system integrations between Hyperion applications and ERP systems (e.g., Oracle ERP, SAP).Implementation & DeliveryLead full lifecycle implementations (

requirements gathering, design, build, testing, deployment).Configure and deploy Hyperion Planning, Essbase cubes, and Financial Reporting tools.Develop business rules, calculation scripts, and data forms.Oversee data integration using tools such as FDMEE / ODI.Stakeholder ManagementCollaborate with finance teams to understand planning, budgeting, and forecasting requirements.Act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders.Translate functional requirements into technical solutions.System Optimization & SupportTroubleshoot system issues and performance bottlenecks.Optimize Essbase cubes, calculations, and application performance.Ensure data accuracy and integrity across systems.Governance & Best PracticesEstablish standards for development, documentation, and security.Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory guidelines.Lead knowledge sharing and training initiatives.Team LeadershipProvide technical leadership and mentoring to developers and analysts.Review technical designs and deliverables.Support pre-sales activities and solution proposals (if applicable).

Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Hyperion Planning and Oracle EPM solutions.Experience in designing and implementing enterprise planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting solutions.Strong knowledge of Essbase, Financial Reporting, Calculation Scripts, Business Rules, and Data Forms.Experience with data integration tools such as FDMEE and ODI.Experience integrating Oracle Hyperion applications with ERP systems such as Oracle ERP and SAP.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.Ability to work closely with finance and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.Experience leading full project lifecycles from requirements gathering through deployment and support.Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.Ability to mentor junior team members and provide technical leadership.

Preferred QualificationsExperience in enterprise performance management (EPM) environments.Exposure to pre-sales activities and solution design.Knowledge of governance, security standards, and best practices within Oracle Hyperion environments.Relevant Oracle Hyperion / Oracle EPM certifications are a plus.
