Operations Officer – Space & Store (Full Time)Location: Al-Khalifa Branch, in front of Sultan Hassan Mosque & Madrasa – Historic CairoWorking Days: 5 days per week (Sunday & Monday off)Contract: 6-month renewable contract, preceded by a one-week paid trial.About AlqalamFounded in 2015, Alqalam is an independent social enterprise dedicated to reviving the arts of Arabic calligraphy and Islamic ornamentation from the heart of Historic Cairo.

Alqalam operates as an exhibition and educational space, an art store for calligraphy tools and artistic gifts, a design studio, and a meeting point for artists and creative practitioners.Role OverviewThe Operations Officer will be responsible for the daily operation of Alqalam’s cultural space and art store, ensuring a welcoming visitor experience, smooth retail operations, and effective coordination of activities and events.

Key ResponsibilitiesWelcome visitors and introduce them to Alqalam’s activities, services, and products while enhancing the overall visitor experience.Manage store sales and respond to inquiries via phone and social media platforms.Process and prepare orders and maintain updates on the online store.Coordinate the daily operation of the space and manage booking schedules.Provide logistical support for workshops, events, and exhibitions.Monitor operational needs of the space and ensure its readiness.Prepare periodic reports on operations and contribute to improving revenue streams.Represent Alqalam in meetings and activities related to the space and store.How to ApplyApplications should be sent before 15 March 2026 Please include:An updated CV highlighting relevant experience.A motivation letter explaining your vision for developing the space and store operations at Alqalam.Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews during March

Based in Cairo, preferably near Al-Khalifa district.Excellent communication skills and professional presence.Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Interest in cultural and artistic fields.Fluency in Arabic and good command of English (spoken and written).A relevant degree is preferred (Business Administration, Cultural Management, Media, or related fields).Previous experience in customer service, retail operations, or cultural spaces is a plus.
