Technical Office Architect Engineer
Job Description
This Role focuses heavily on translating design concepts into flawless, buildable architectural details, managing finishing packages, and handling material submittals and multidisciplinary coordination (Structure & MEP).
Coordinate with other Technical Office engineers to produce shop drawings with focus on aesthetics and cost control.Analyze building codes, by-laws, space and site requirements, and other technical documents and reports to determine their effect on architectural and civil designs.Coordinate structural, electrical, and mechanical designs, and determine a method of presentation to graphically represent building plans.Resolve arising conflicts between various design components.Draw and print rough and detailed scale plans for foundations, buildings, and structures based on preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets, and other data.Lay out and plan interior design arrangements using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment and software.Determine and direct procedures and instructions to be followed according to design specifications and quantity of required materials.Issue requests for information (RFI) documents to inquire about conflicting or missing information.Obtain and assemble data to complete architectural designs, visiting job sites to compile measurements as necessary.Analyze technical implications of architect's design concept, calculating weights, volumes, and stress factors.Represent architect on construction site, ensuring builder compliance with design specifications, and advising on design corrections under architect's supervisionCheck dimensions of materials to be used and assign numbers to lists of materials.

Education & ExperienceDegree: Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering.Years of Experience:
- Junior / Mid-Level: 3–5 years of experience in a contracting technical office.Senior Level: 6–10+ years of technical office experience, with a proven track record of handling architectural packages on complex or fast-track projects.

Core Technical SkillsShop Drawings & Detailing: Outstanding ability to create and review highly detailed architectural shop drawings (e.g., masonry layout, floor and wall finishes, reflected ceiling plans (RCP), waterproofing, and façade/cladding systems).Software Proficiency:
- Advanced command of AutoCAD (2D drafting and detailing).
Autodesk Revit (BIM) for modeling and clash detection is a Plus.Excellence in MS Excel for quantity surveying and tracking schedules.Material Submittals & Finishing Work: Deep knowledge of building and finishing materials, interior fit-outs, and construction methodologies.
Ability to technical-review supplier datasheets and mockups.Quantity Surveying (QS): Strong capability to perform accurate architectural material take-offs (MTO), compare them with the Bill of Quantities (BOQ), and assist in cost control.
