Senior University Admissions CounselorCompany: UniveeraLocation: RemoteEmployment Type: Full-timePreferred Candidate Location: Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, or the GCCAbout UniveeraUniveera is an all-in-one university guidance platform designed to support students across the Middle East throughout their university journey.Through Univeera, students can explore universities and majors, discover scholarships, connect with experienced advisors and university ambassadors, receive application and essay support, attend webinars, and manage their university journey in one place.We are building a trusted, student-first advisory service and are looking for an experienced university admissions professional to lead and deliver our university guidance function.About the RoleWe are hiring a Head of University Guidance / Senior University Admissions Counselor to support students and families through the university selection and application process.The successful candidate will work directly with students applying to universities in destinations such as the UK, USA, Canada, Europe, Australia, and the Middle East.This is a hands-on role.
You will initially advise students directly while also helping Univeera build its advisory standards, processes, resources, and wider network of specialist counselors.
Key ResponsibilitiesConduct one-to-one university guidance sessions with students and parents.Assess students’ academic profiles, interests, goals, extracurricular activities, preferred destinations, and budgets.Develop personalized university and program shortlists.Guide students through UCAS, Common App, and direct university application systems.Create clear application plans, timelines, and deadline trackers.Support students with personal statements, Common App essays, supplemental essays, CVs, and activity lists.Review applications and documents before submission.Help students identify relevant scholarships and financial-aid opportunities.Prepare students for university interviews where required.Provide honest and realistic advice regarding admission chances and suitable university options.Communicate clearly with parents and provide structured updates on student progress.Record consultation notes, recommendations, tasks, and student progress within the Univeera platform or CRM.Follow up with students to ensure deadlines and agreed actions are completed.Support students with offer evaluation and final university selection.Help develop Univeera’s internal counseling procedures, templates, checklists, and quality standards.Review the work of freelance or specialist advisors where required.Help recruit, assess, train, and manage additional university advisors as Univeera grows.Deliver occasional webinars, workshops, and educational content for students, parents, and schools.Performance ExpectationsThe successful candidate will be expected to:Maintain high student and parent satisfaction.Respond to assigned students within agreed timelines.Keep student records and progress updates complete and accurate.Ensure applications are reviewed carefully before submission.Meet application deadlines consistently.Provide personalized recommendations rather than generic university lists.Maintain confidentiality and follow Univeera’s student-safeguarding and data-protection requirements.CompensationCompetitive monthly salary based on experience and location.The role may also include performance-based incentives linked to student satisfaction, application completion, service quality, and successful student outcomes.
Job RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Business, or a related field.Minimum 3 years of experience in university admissions counseling, college counseling, student guidance, or international education.Proven experience supporting high-school students through university selection and applications.Strong knowledge of major university application systems, particularly UCAS and Common App.Good understanding of university admissions requirements across the UK, USA, Canada, Europe, Australia, and the Middle East.Experience developing personalized university shortlists based on academic profile, interests, budget, and career goals.Strong experience reviewing personal statements, essays, CVs, activity lists, and application documents.Excellent written and spoken English.Arabic language skills are strongly preferred.Strong communication and relationship-management skills with students and parents.Ability to manage multiple students, deadlines, applications, and follow-ups at the same time.Strong attention to detail and ability to review applications accurately before submission.Comfortable using online platforms, CRMs, spreadsheets, video calls, and university application portals.Ability to work independently in a remote environment.Strong ethical standards and a student-first approach.Ability to provide honest, realistic, and objective university advice.Willingness to document all student interactions, recommendations, and progress updates.Availability during evenings or weekends when required to support students and parents.Preferred RequirementsExperience working with students from the GCC or wider Middle East.Previous experience in an international school, education consultancy, university admissions office, or study-abroad company.Experience supporting applications to highly selective universities.Knowledge of scholarships, financial aid, visas, accommodation, and post-admission support.Experience managing or training other university advisors.Experience delivering student workshops, webinars, or parent information sessions.
