The General Accountant is responsible for managing day-to-day financial transactions, ensuring accuracy of accounting records, and supporting financial reporting.
The role covers Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Taxation, Banking, and Financial Reporting functions..
Accounts Payable (AP)Process vendor invoices and ensure proper approvalsMatch invoices with purchase orders and delivery notesPrepare and execute payments (cash, checks, bank transfers)Maintain vendor accounts and resolve discrepanciesMonitor due dates and avoid late payments
Accounts Receivable (AR)Issue customer invoices accurately and on timeTrack incoming payments and update recordsFollow up on outstanding balances and overdue accountsReconcile customer accounts and resolve disputesPrepare aging reports
TaxationPrepare and submit tax returnsEnsure compliance with local tax regulationsMaintain proper tax documentation and records.
Financial ReportingPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reportsAssist in preparing financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)Perform account reconciliations (GL, bank, suppliers, customers)Analyze financial data and highlight variancesSupport budgeting and forecasting processes
Banking & TreasuryHandle daily banking transactions and reconciliationsMonitor cash flow and liquidity
General AccountingRecord journal entries and maintain general ledgerEnsure accuracy and completeness of accounting recordsSupport internal and external auditsMaintain proper filing and documentation systemEnsure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field2–5 years of experience in accounting rolesStrong knowledge of accounting principles and practicesExperience with accounting software (e.g., Zoho books, Odoo, QuickBooks)Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel (piviot table, VLOOKUP)Experience working in an interior design, construction, or fit-out company not mandatoryFamiliarity with project-based accounting and cost tracking per projectUnderstanding of BOQs (Bill of Quantities) and project costingExposure to procurement cycles and supplier management in design projectsExperience handling contract-based billing and milestone invoicingBasic knowledge of materials, finishes, and vendor types used in interior design projects
