Control Systems Engineer

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Control Systems Engineer to join our engineering team.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in PLC programming, SCADA system development, and industrial automation projects.

This role is suited for a mid-level professional who can independently execute engineering tasks while supporting project delivery from design through commissioning.

Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, test, and commission industrial control systems for process and manufacturing applications.Program, troubleshoot, and modify PLC systems using platforms such as Siemens, Rockwell Automation, and/or Mitsubishi.Develop and maintain SCADA/HMI applications, including graphics, alarms, trends, reports, and communication interfaces.Prepare control system documentation including I/O lists, functional design specifications, network architecture drawings, cause & effect matrices, and FAT/SAT procedures.Integrate PLCs with field instruments, drives, motor control centers, analyzers, and third-party systems.Configure industrial communication networks such as Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus TCP/RTU, Profibus, or equivalent.Support factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT), startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.Perform system upgrades, migrations, backups, and preventive maintenance activities.Provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams.Ensure compliance with project specifications, client standards, and safety regulations.

RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or related discipline.4–8 years of relevant experience in industrial automation and control systems.Strong PLC programming experience with one or more of the following:Siemens (TIA Portal, Step 7, WinCC)Rockwell Automation (Studio 5000, FactoryTalk)Mitsubishi (GX Works, GOT, MC Works)Experience with SCADA/HMI platforms and system integration.Good understanding of control panels, instrumentation, VFDs, MCCs, and industrial networks.Ability to read electrical schematics, P&IDs, and control logic diagrams.Experience in troubleshooting live industrial systems under time pressure.Good communication skills and ability to work with clients, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams.Willingness to travel for site work and commissioning when required.Preferred SkillsExperience in water treatment, oil & gas, utilities, manufacturing, or infrastructure projects.Knowledge of cybersecurity for industrial control systems.Familiarity with IEC standards.Experience with redundancy systems, historian databases, and remote telemetry systems.Personal AttributesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsSelf-motivated and organizedPractical hands-on mindsetAble to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesTeam player with professional attitude
