Health & Safety Section Head

The University’s Health & Safety Section Head plays a vital role in fostering a safe and healthy environment for all students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

This position requires a highly motivated and experienced individual to lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of a comprehensive health and safety program across the entire university.

Responsibilities:Develop, implement, and oversee the University’s Health & Safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all relevant local, regional, and national regulations.Conduct regular risk assessments across all university facilities and activities, identifying and mitigating potential hazards.Lead a team of health and safety professionals in providing training, education, and support to all university personnel on safety best practices.Investigate accidents and incidents, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.Oversee the maintenance and inspection of fire safety equipment, laboratory safety measures, and hazardous materials management.Liaise with relevant authorities and external safety organizations as needed.Develop and maintain a comprehensive health and safety budget.Monitor and report on the University’s health and safety performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement.Stay up-to-date on the latest health and safety legislation and best practices.Promote a strong culture of safety awareness throughout the university community.

Qualifications:Bachelor's degree and complete certification of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) basic and advancedAware of Industrial Hygiene, Public Health, Engineering, or a closely related field.Certifications in safety-related fields Aware of Safety rules and regulations especially Egyptian code, Civil Defense and international code is a plus.Minimum of [5] years of experience in a leadership role within health and safety.Occupational Safety and Health.OSH, EPA, Industrial Hygiene.Public Health OSHASafety ProgramsSafety inspections and audits.State occupational safety and health regulations.Safety policies and procedures.Hazard identification and risk assessment.Emergency Preparedness & Response.Write manual for health and Safety.
