Installation Engineer

Install and connect three-phase and smart electricity meters per technical and safety standards.Secure meters in designated locations and integrate with existing infrastructure.Commission and calibrate meters to ensure accurate readings and regulatory compliance.Inspect, maintain, and repair metering systems to ensure reliability.Diagnose faults in wiring, communication, or meter functionality; replace components as needed.Follow electrical safety regulations (e.g., IET, OSHA) and utility standards.Use PPE and adhere to safe work practices.Communicate installation procedures and usage guidance to customers.Liaise with utility companies and contractors to schedule and resolve field issues.Record meter readings, test results, and site activity.Update utility databases with meter data and maintain accurate work logs.Configure smart meters for RF, GSM, or PLC communication.Ensure secure data transmission and AMR/AMI system compatibility.Stay current with metering technologies, standards, and regulatory updates.Participate in technical training and development programs.

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.3–5 years’ experience in electrical installations or metering (smart meter/AMI exposure preferred).Proficient in electrical systems, wiring, and diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeters, calibrators).Familiarity with single-phase, three-phase, and smart metering technologies.Understanding of smart meter communication protocols (e.g., Zigbee, Modbus).
