IT Manager (Infrastructure & Operations)

Job Type: Full-TimeDepartment: IT Department Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly experienced and proactive IT Manager to lead and manage the organization’s IT operations across a large-scale, enterprise environment.The role will oversee multiple IT domains including Infrastructure, Cloud Environment, Network & Security, Database Systems, DevOps, and IT Support, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security of all systems supporting business-critical operations.The ideal candidate must have strong experience managing hybrid environments (on-premises and cloud), with deep expertise in networking, firewalls, virtualization, and enterprise systems, along with proven leadership capabilities.

Scope of ResponsibilityLead and manage cross-functional IT teams:Infrastructure & Data Center OperationsCloud & Hybrid PlatformsNetwork & SecurityDatabase AdministrationDevOps / AutomationIT Support / HelpdeskEnsure 24/7 system availability, operational stability, and incident responseSupport large-scale environments and high-volume systemsDrive IT strategy aligned with business growth and operational needs Key Responsibilities

1. IT Leadership & GovernanceDefine and execute IT strategy, roadmap, and architecture standardsEstablish and enforce IT policies, procedures, and governance frameworksManage team performance, KPIs, and continuous improvement initiativesCoordinate with vendors, MSPs, and internal stakeholders

Infrastructure & Data Center ManagementOversee enterprise infrastructure including:Windows Server (Active Directory, GPO, DNS, DHCP)Linux systems (Ubuntu, RHEL, etc.)Manage virtualization platforms (VMware ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V)Ensure high availability, clustering, and capacity planningManage storage systems and infrastructure lifecycle

Network & Security ManagementDesign and manage enterprise network architecture (LAN/WAN, routing, switching, VPNs)Configure, manage, and troubleshoot enterprise firewall solutions, including:Fortinet (FortiGate)SophosSangforBarracuda (including WAF)Azure FirewallImplement and maintain firewall policies, NAT, segmentation, and access controlsManage Web Application Firewalls (WAF) and secure public-facing systemsEnsure secure connectivity across on-premises and cloud environmentsConduct security monitoring, vulnerability management, and incident response

Cloud & Hybrid InfrastructureManage and optimize environments across:On-premises infrastructureCloud platforms (Azure, AWS, hybrid)Design and maintain secure hybrid connectivity (VPN, tunnels, firewall integration)Implement cloud-native security (Azure Firewall, NSG, Application Gateway/WAF)Lead cloud migration, DR replication, and cost optimization initiatives

5.

Virtualization & End-User ComputingManage virtualization platforms (VMware ESXi, Hyper-V)Oversee VDI environments (VMware Horizon)Ensure performance, scalability, and availability for enterprise users

Database OversightOversee database environments:SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Cassandra (as applicable)Ensure database backup, recovery, and high availabilityCoordinate performance tuning and optimization with DB teams

7.

DevOps, Automation & Modern PlatformsOversee container environments (Docker, Kubernetes)Promote automation using PowerShell, Bash, and CI/CD pipelinesSupport application teams with deployment and infrastructure integration

8.

Backup, Disaster Recovery & Business ContinuityDefine and manage enterprise backup strategiesImplement and test Disaster Recovery (DR) plansEnsure compliance with RPO/RTO requirementsConduct regular DR drills and readiness assessments

9.

Monitoring & PerformanceImplement and manage enterprise monitoring toolsEnsure proactive alerting and incident handlingIdentify system bottlenecks and optimize performance

10.

Team Leadership & Vendor ManagementLead, mentor, and manage cross-functional IT teamsAct as escalation point for critical incidentsManage vendors, MSPs, and external service providers

Documentation & ComplianceMaintain enterprise documentation (architecture, SOPs, DR plans)Ensure compliance with security standards and audit requirements

QualificationsEducationBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Experience7–10+ years in IT infrastructure / system administration3–5 years in leadership or IT management roleProven experience managing large-scale enterprise environments Certifications (Preferred)Microsoft Certified (Azure Administrator / Architect)VMware Certified Professional (VCP)AWS CertificationsCompTIA Network+ / Security+Kubernetes certifications Technical SkillsAdvanced expertise in:Windows Server (AD, GPO, DNS, DHCP)Linux administrationVirtualization (VMware ESXi, Hyper-V)Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, routing, segmentation)Strong experience with:Firewalls (FortiGate, Sophos, Sangfor, Barracuda, Azure Firewall)Load balancers (HAProxy, NGINX, F5)Hybrid infrastructure (on-prem + cloud)Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS)Backup and DR solutionsContainers (Docker, Kubernetes)Arabic and English speaker (Required)Ability to work on-site in Egypt and travel when needed
