Mechanical Engineer - Steel Factory

Execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on heavy rotating equipment, gearboxes, pumps, and fans.

Troubleshoot, repair, and optimize high-pressure hydraulic and pneumatic systems driving critical plant machinery.Lead mechanical technicians during emergency equipment failures to safely and rapidly restore manufacturing operations.Perform laser alignments, dynamic balancing, and vibration analysis to predict and prevent premature bearing and shaft failures.Plan and execute mechanical overhauls during scheduled plant turnarounds and major maintenance shutdowns.Redesign mechanical components prone to high wear from heat, scale, and dust to extend their operational life.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related manufacturing field.3+ years of mechanical engineering experience specifically within a steel mill, foundry, or heavy processing industry.Direct experience with Electric Arc Furnaces (EAF), Continuous Casting Machines (CCM), Overhead Cranes, or Rolling Mills.Deep understanding of heavy hydraulics, lubrication systems, thermodynamics, and materials science (steel wear/heat treatment).Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD/SolidWorks) and experience using a CMMS (SAP/Maximo) for work orders.
