SAP FICO Consultant

Job Purpose:The SAP S/4HANA FICO Consultant is responsible for analyzing business requirements, designing, configuring, implementing, and supporting SAP Finance and Controlling (FICO) solutions.

The role serves as the primary liaison between Finance & Accounting and IT, ensuring SAP supports financial operations, statutory compliance, business objectives, and continuous process improvement.

The consultant also supports SAP S/4HANA Group Reporting and Financial Consolidation to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting across the organization.________________________________________

Key Responsibilities:Business Analysis & Solution Design

• Gather, analyze, and document Finance and Accounting business requirements.
• Translate business requirements into SAP best-practice solutions and functional specifications.
• Recommend process improvements, automation opportunities, and system enhancements to optimize financial operations.SAP Configuration, Implementation & Support
• Configure, implement, and support SAP S/4HANA Finance and Controlling modules, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Asset Accounting (AA), Bank Accounting, Cost Center Accounting (CCA), Profit Center Accounting (PCA), Internal Orders, Budgeting, Tax Configuration, and Automatic Account Determination.
• Configure and maintain financial organizational structures, including Company Codes, Chart of Accounts, Fiscal Year Variants, Posting Period Variants, Document Types, Posting Keys, and other financial master data.
• Participate in SAP implementation, rollout, upgrade, enhancement, and production support activities.
• Provide Level 2/Level 3 functional support, troubleshoot complex issues, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate with technical teams to deliver effective solutions.SAP S/4HANA Group Reporting & Integration
• Configure and support SAP S/4HANA Group Reporting and Financial Consolidation processes, including intercompany eliminations, currency translation, consolidation adjustments, and consolidated financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and corporate policies while improving consolidation efficiency and reporting accuracy.
• Collaborate with SAP MM, SD, HCM, PP, and other functional teams to ensure seamless end-to-end business process integration.Financial Closing, Reporting & Compliance
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities by ensuring system readiness and resolving closing-related issues.
• Support financial reporting requirements, including Financial Statements, Cost Center Reports, Profit Center Reports, Group Reporting, and Consolidated Financial Reports.
• Ensure finance processes comply with internal controls, audit requirements, regulatory standards, and company policies.
• Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation, system access, and functional expertise.Testing, Documentation & Training
• Prepare functional specifications for custom developments and collaborate with ABAP developers during solution delivery.
• Execute Unit Testing, Integration Testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure solution quality.
• Maintain configuration documents, process documentation, and user guides.
• Conduct knowledge transfer sessions and end-user training while coordinating with business users, project teams, and external consultants.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience implementing, configuring, and supporting SAP FICO in SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA.
• Experience in at least one full lifecycle SAP implementation or rollout project.
• Strong knowledge of Financial Accounting (FI), Controlling (CO), financial closing, and reporting processes.
• Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance, including Universal Journal, New Asset Accounting, and SAP S/4HANA Group Reporting.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and statutory compliance.
• Experience integrating SAP FICO with SAP MM ,SD and HCM modules.
• Excellent analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.Preferred
• SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP S/4HANA Financial Accounting.
• Experience with SAP Fiori, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), Central Finance (CFIN), Treasury, or Cash Management.
• Knowledge of SAP Activate methodology and Agile project delivery.
