Structural Engineer – Remote Position

A Canadian structural engineering company is seeking a motivated Structural Engineer based in Egypt to join its engineering team remotely.

The successful candidate will support the analysis and design of residential and light-commercial structures in Canada.Strong English communication skills—both written and verbal—are essential for this position, as the engineer will communicate regularly with the Canadian team through emails, online meetings, technical comments, and project documentation.

Key ResponsibilitiesPerform structural analysis and design under the supervision of senior engineers.Prepare structural calculations, design models, sketches, and technical documentation.Develop and revise structural drawings using AutoCAD.Model and analyze structures using ETABS, SAP2000, and Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis Professional.Review architectural and structural drawings for coordination and constructability.Respond clearly and professionally to technical comments.Prepare clear, accurate, and professional emails and project communications in English.Participate effectively in English-language online meetings and technical discussions.Coordinate remotely with the Canadian engineering and administrative teams.Complete assigned work accurately and within established deadlines.

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.Between 1 and 3 years of relevant structural engineering experience.Good proficiency in AutoCAD.Good working knowledge of ETABS, SAP2000, and Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis Professional.Strong understanding of structural analysis and engineering fundamentals.Strong written and verbal English communication skills are mandatory.Ability to understand technical instructions and communicate engineering information clearly in English.Ability to write clear, professional, and grammatically correct emails.Strong attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills.Ability to work independently in a remote environment.Reliable computer, internet connection, and professional home-working setup.Ability to maintain reasonable overlap with Canadian working hours when required.

Preferred QualificationsPrevious experience working remotely with an international engineering company.Experience with residential and light-commercial projects.Familiarity with North American or Canadian structural design practices and building codes.Experience with concrete, steel, masonry, and wood structures.Experience preparing calculation packages and structural drawing markups.
