Summer Camp Counselor - STEAMulation Hub - Alexandria

The Camp Counselor is responsible for the overall instruction and care for the children in her/his group to help them achieve their utmost potential. S/He will focus on facilitating the development of children’s skills, character and their love for learning. S/He is to follow the educational philosophy and the curriculum outlined by Innovvette, as well as its policy and systems. S/He is accountable for ensuring that the personal care, hygiene, learning & development activities, specialized programs, and the positive discipline of the children are all implemented according to our high standards and maintaining our reputation for excellence. S/He will work with the Camp Program Manager on designing and providing a stimulating, safe, and developmentally appropriate educational environment where children have the opportunity to develop their cognitive, language, social-emotional, physical, and self-help skills. S/He will demonstrate responsible behavior at all times, and will work hard to build good relationships with the children.

The ideal candidate should be positive, proactive, and caring while focusing on giving campers a fun, safe camp experience..!

Dynamic and positive character able to inspire, influence and engage children and guide them to develop their skills & abilities and realize their full potential.

Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a team, and to motivate others to accomplish the overall company’s vision & objectives.

Ability to self-motivate, proceed with achieving objectives & follow the program with minimum supervision. A high degree of patience & resilience and a robust capability to manage multiple tasks.

Remarkable professional work ethics & business sense, demonstrating honesty, integrity, and commitment to confidentiality.

Punctuality & reliability in attendance is a priority.

Able to physically and mentally react promptly to unexpected circumstances and emergencies.

Able to interact and communicate with children on the playground/classroom, i.e. run, jump, dance, demonstrate physical exercises
