Export Manager (West & East Africa)
Job Description
Develop and execute export sales strategies to expand market share across West and East African countries.Identify, appoint, and manage distributors, agents, and key customers in assigned territories.Achieve annual sales targets, revenue growth, and profitability objectives.Analyze market trends, competitor activities, pricing structures, and consumer preferences within the FMCG sector.Lead business development initiatives to penetrate new markets and strengthen existing customer relationships.Conduct regular market visits to support distributors, monitor performance, and identify growth opportunities.Negotiate commercial agreements, pricing, trade terms, and promotional activities with distributors and key accounts.Coordinate with Supply Chain, Production, Finance, and Logistics teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment and timely deliveries.Manage export documentation, customs requirements, and regulatory compliance for African markets.Prepare sales forecasts, demand plans, and market intelligence reports for senior management.Monitor inventory levels and distributor stock management to ensure product availability.Represent the company at international trade fairs, exhibitions, and business meetings.Drive brand visibility and market expansion for the company's biscuits and confectionery portfolio.
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, International Trade, or a related field.Minimum 7 years of experience in Export Sales within the FMCG industry.Proven experience exporting Biscuits, Candy, Confectionery, Snacks, or Food Products to West and East African markets.Strong network of distributors and trade partners across African markets is highly preferred.Solid knowledge of international trade regulations, export procedures, shipping documentation, and customs requirements.Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and developing new export markets.Strong commercial, negotiation, and business development skills.Excellent analytical, communication, and relationship management abilities.Experience in distributor management, channel development, and market expansion strategies.Fluency in English is required;
French is a strong advantage for West African markets.Willingness to travel frequently across assigned territories.
