Job Description
- Maintaining a health clinic and identifying communicable diseases:
- Monitor ill students (sickness)
- Referring cases to a specialist.
- Medical records and screening:
- Maintaining a medical file for each student on the system
- Participation in parent-teacher conferences
- Available for hosted competitions and workshops.
- Provide immediate medical care and first aid to students and staff during school hours.
- Conduct routine health screenings, including vision, hearing, and general wellness checks.
- Maintain accurate and confidential health records for all students in compliance with regulations.
- Develop and implement health policies, protocols, and emergency response procedures.
- Administer prescribed medications and monitor students with chronic health conditions.
- Educate students, staff, and parents on health topics, disease prevention, and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Collaborate with school counselors, teachers, and administration to support students’ physical and mental well-being.
- Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate with external healthcare providers as needed.
- Monitor and manage communicable disease outbreaks, ensuring timely reporting and containment.
- Participate in school safety drills and contribute to the overall health and safety planning.
- Emergency cases are accompanied to hospital.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor of pharmacy is not accepted.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a licensed medical doctor, preferably in a school or pediatric setting.
- Ability to work full-time, on-site at the school campus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, staff, and parents.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in maintaining health records and documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to handle medical emergencies calmly and efficiently.
- Knowledge of child and adolescent health, including common illnesses and chronic conditions.
- Familiarity with school health policies, procedures, and relevant legal regulations.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding ethical standards.
- Ability to educate and promote health awareness within the school community.
- Proficiency in English; additional language skills are a plus.
