Job Description
Job Overview: The Technical Office Engineer is responsible for developing detailed and accurate shop drawings for construction projects.
This role involves ensuring that all drawings strictly comply with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
The Engineer acts as a vital technical link between the design and construction teams, facilitating effective coordination and flawless execution.
Key Responsibilities:Shop Drawing Development: Prepare and draft detailed shop drawings from original design documents, ensuring maximum accuracy and adherence to project specifications.Quality & Clash Control: Ensure the constructability of designs, perform accurate clash detection across all disciplines (Architectural, MEP, Structural), and ensure strict compliance with design intent and the highest industry standards for premium finishes.Coordination & Cross-Functional Integration: Collaborate with architects, site engineers, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of drawings with the overall project design.
Coordinate closely with site execution teams and manufacturing facilities to ensure all structural, architectural, and fit-out shop drawings are highly detailed and optimized for seamless production and on-site assembly.Documentation Management: Ensure all shop drawings and related technical documentation are properly recorded, logged, maintained, and distributed to relevant stakeholders.Task & Timeline Management: Adhere strictly to project timelines for shop drawing production, ensuring timely delivery to support fast-track site execution schedules.Client & Stakeholder Interaction: Communicate effectively with technical stakeholders to clarify project requirements and directly incorporate approved feedback into the final shop drawings.Continuous Improvement: Implement engineering best practices to improve personal efficiency, drafting speed, and overall output quality.
Qualifications:Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.Experience: 5 years of solid experience in shop drawing preparation and technical office roles within the construction, engineering, or premium fit-out industry.Key Competencies:Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and advanced proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).Attention to Detail: Exceptional precision in producing complex shop drawings, specifically for high-end commercial and residential spaces, ensuring zero tolerance for execution or manufacturing errors.Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective technical interaction with team members and site personnel.Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to identify spatial or structural issues and develop practical engineering solutions in a timely manner.Time Management: Proven ability to manage assigned tasks, handle multiple drawings concurrently, and meet strict deadlines effectively.
