Job Description
- The Senior Airfreight Operation role is a full-time, on-site position based in Heliopolis.
This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day airfreight operations, including booking, coordinating shipments, managing documentation, and ensuring compliance with airline and customs regulations.
The senior specialist will monitor shipment status, handle issue resolution, and communicate proactively with clients, carriers, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery and high service quality.
Key responsibilities include rate negotiation with airlines, preparing and reviewing air waybills and export/import documents, and optimizing routing and costs.
The role also involves mentoring junior team members, improving operational processes, and supporting key accounts with accurate information and professional service.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Strong airfreight operations expertise, including shipment planning, routing, and coordination with airlines and ground handling agents.
- Proficiency in freight documentation and compliance, such as air waybills, export/import papers, customs requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Customer service and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships, manage expectations, and provide clear updates to clients and partners.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to handle operational issues, delays, and exceptions while maintaining cost and time efficiency.
- Experience with logistics and freight management systems, and solid MS Office skills (especially Excel and Outlook).
- Proven experience in airfreight within a freight forwarding, preferably in a senior or supervisory role. { experience not less than 4 years }
- Ability to work on-site in Heliopolis, manage multiple priorities, and perform effectively under time-sensitive conditions.
- Relevant education in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field; professional certifications in freight forwarding or logistics are an advantage
- Good command of English in addition to Arabic, both written and spoken.
